Using Themes in Captivation Hub Forms and Surveys

Themes in Captivation Hub's Form and Survey builder let you apply a complete, polished design to your form in a single click. Instead of customizing colors, fonts, and layouts one element at a time, you start from a professionally crafted preset and then refine it to match your brand.

Themes are ready-made design presets for Forms and Surveys. When you apply a theme, it sets a cohesive look across the entire form — including background, colors, typography, button styles, and spacing. You can then adjust individual elements to fine-tune the design.

Step 1 — Apply a Theme to Your Form or Survey

Open your form or survey in the builder. In the upper-right area, click Styles & Options to open the right sidebar. Select the Themes tab and browse the available options. Click a theme to apply it — you'll see a live preview update right away.

Step 2 — Customize the Theme

After applying a theme, you can adjust it to fit your brand. In Styles & Options → Styles → Colors & Backgrounds, you can change:

• Background — Set a solid color or upload a background image.
• Text input and border colors — Match your brand's color palette.
• Primary color — Controls how your button fill, border, and text colors are applied across the form.

Button Themes

Within the theme settings, you'll find Button Theme presets — Filled, Border, and Text Only. These presets apply a specific button style with color, typography, and spacing already set. Apply one, then use the Button Styling Panel to refine further with padding, border radius, shadow, and more.

Changing the Background Image

If the selected theme includes a default background image and you want to replace it, delete the existing background image first. The upload option stays disabled until the current image is removed. After deleting it, click the background image area to upload your own file.

Reverting or Switching Themes

To try a different theme, click Select Themes to reopen the gallery and pick another. To undo customizations, use the Reset or Revert option in the styling panel.

Using the Same Theme Across Multiple Forms

Themes are applied per form or survey. If you want a consistent look across multiple assets, apply the same theme to each one and mirror the same settings in Styles & Options. This is a good practice for keeping your brand consistent across every touchpoint.

Updated Default Theme

The default theme for Forms, Surveys, and supported Quiz components has a refreshed look. The updated default includes cleaner spacing, more polished input fields, rounded styling, and improved visual consistency across all supported elements. You'll also notice clearer empty states and more consistent label, placeholder, and footer styling.

Why is the "Upload New Background" button grayed out?

The upload button stays disabled as long as a default background image is set by the current theme. Delete the existing background image first — the upload option will become available once it's cleared.

Can I reuse the same theme across multiple forms and surveys?

Yes — themes are applied per asset, so you'll need to select the same theme on each form or survey individually. Mirror your color and style settings across them to keep everything looking consistent.
