Captivation Hub includes a built-in SEO Meta Data tool that helps you optimize each page of your funnel or website for search engines. You can add a title tag, meta description, and keywords directly within the page editor — no coding required.
Search engines like Google use this information to understand what your page is about and decide how to display it in search results. Taking a few minutes to fill in your SEO settings for each page can help more of the right people find your content.
What Is SEO Meta Data?
SEO meta data is a set of details about your page that search engines read but visitors don't see directly on the page. The three main fields are:
- Title tag — The headline that appears in browser tabs and search results. Keep it under 60 characters and include your primary keyword.
- Meta description — A short summary of the page (ideally 150–160 characters) that often appears below the title in search results. Write it to encourage clicks.
- Keywords — A list of terms related to your page content. While most major search engines don't weigh keywords as heavily as they once did, it's still a good practice to include a few relevant ones.
Step 1 — Open the Page Editor
In your Captivation Hub account, go to Funnels. Find the funnel or website you want to update, click the three-dot menu, and select Edit. Then click into the specific page (funnel step) you want to add SEO data to.
Step 2 — Access the SEO Settings
Inside the page editor, look for the SEO Meta Data option. Depending on the view, this may appear in a settings panel, a gear icon, or in the page settings drawer. Click it to open the SEO fields for that page.
Step 3 — Fill in Your SEO Fields
Enter the following for each page:
- Meta Title — A clear, descriptive title that includes your main keyword. This is what appears in the browser tab and in search engine results.
- Meta Description — A brief, compelling summary of the page. Think of it as the pitch that gets someone to click through from Google.
- Meta Keywords — A comma-separated list of relevant keywords for the page. Keep it focused — 5 to 10 terms is typically enough.
Once you've filled in the fields, save your changes.
Tips for Better SEO
- Every page in your funnel can have its own unique SEO meta data. Don't use the same title and description across multiple pages — search engines prefer unique content.
- Write your meta description as if you're speaking directly to the person searching. Make it clear what they'll get when they click.
- Use the SEO Meta Data Suggester (if available in your account) to get recommendations tailored to your page content.
- After publishing, you can use Google Search Console to monitor how your pages perform in search results over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to fill in SEO meta data for every page?
It's a good idea to fill it in wherever possible, especially for landing pages and pages you want people to find through search. That said, if a page is only accessible via a direct link (like a thank-you page after a form submission), SEO settings are less critical there.
How long does it take for SEO changes to show up in search results?
It can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for search engines to re-crawl your page and reflect the updated information. This varies depending on how often search engines index your site.
What's the difference between the funnel's SEO settings and each page's SEO settings?
Each page (funnel step) has its own URL and its own SEO fields. Make sure you're setting meta data at the page level so each step can be optimized individually.
