Reviewing client documents shouldn't mean constantly checking the Client Portal to see if anything new came in. Account Admins and Users can now get an in-app notification the moment a contact uploads a file, so nothing sits waiting for attention.
This update gives your team instant visibility into new client submissions, making it easier to review documents, complete approvals, manage onboarding, and keep document-based work moving without manually checking for uploads.
What's New
Notifications for client file uploads: when a contact uploads one or more files through the Shared Documents section of the Client Portal, the relevant Account Admins and Users automatically receive an in-app notification. Clients can upload up to 10 files at a time.
Manage notification preferences: Account Admins can control which staff members receive file upload notifications at the account level.
To manage these preferences:
- Navigate to Settings → My Staff.
- Select the staff member.
- Open Notification Settings.
- Under Client Portal Notifications, enable or disable "Notify when a contact uploads a file in the Client Portal."
Why It Matters
Client-uploaded documents often need timely action, whether that's reviewing contracts, verifying identity documents, processing onboarding paperwork, or approving project deliverables. Before this update, teams had to manually keep an eye on the Client Portal for new uploads, which could mean delays or missed submissions. With file upload notifications, the right team members can respond faster, work together more smoothly, and keep important workflows moving.
Good to Know
- Notifications only trigger when a contact uploads files through the Client Portal Shared Documents experience.
- Notification preferences are managed individually for each staff member.
- Preferences are configured at the account level under Settings → My Staff → Notification Settings.
- The currently supported notification channel is in-app notifications.
