This article walks you through how to build visually engaging, on-brand surveys inside Captivation Hub. From button styles to background images to progress indicators, the customization options let you shape the survey experience to match your brand and keep respondents moving through it comfortably.
Getting Started
To access the survey styling tools, head to Funnels in the main navigation, then go to Surveys > Builder inside your account. Follow these steps to get going:
- Log in to Captivation Hub and navigate to the account where you want to build the survey.
- From within the account, go to the Funnels tab and select Surveys, then choose Builder.
- In the top-right corner, click Add Survey. You can start from scratch or pick from one of the available templates.
Customization Options
Once you're in the survey builder, a wide range of styling controls are available in the right-side panel:
- Footer Customization — Enable a custom footer from the right-side menu. Once enabled, you can fully control its content and layout.
- Progress Tracking — The footer supports four different progress indicator styles. You can choose whether it sticks to the survey as respondents scroll, and set its position to the left, right, or both sides.
- Color Customization — Set text colors, button colors, and other visual elements to match your survey's theme for a consistent look throughout.
- Detachable Footer — Prefer the footer pinned to the very bottom of the page? You can detach it from the survey body and anchor it there instead.
- Page Count or Progress Percentage — Choose between showing a page number count or a percentage completion indicator. Both can be color-customized to fit your branding.
- Background Images — Add a background image to give your survey a polished, themed feel. Great for campaigns or branded experiences.
- Button Customization — Adjust the look and behavior of the Previous and Next buttons. Controls include height, font size, font weight, and button type — choose between text labels, arrows, or a combination of both.
Once you've applied your customizations, preview the survey to see the changes in action. Respondents will see the progress indicator update as they move through each page, and the overall design will reflect the brand identity you've set.
Well-designed surveys make a real difference — people are far more likely to complete a form that looks polished and feels intentional. The effort you put into styling pays off in better completion rates and a stronger impression of your brand.
