Once a contact submits a survey, you might be wondering where all that data actually lives. This article walks you through where Captivation Hub stores survey responses, how to access and review them, how they tie back to contact records, and how to export them when you need them.
What Are Survey Submissions?
Survey submissions are the recorded answers from contacts who completed one of your surveys. Captivation Hub stores these in a dedicated Submissions tab inside the Surveys section. Depending on which fields are included in your survey, responses may also be written directly into the contact's profile.

How to View Survey Submissions
To pull up the answers submitted through your surveys:
- Go to Funnels in the main left-hand navigation.

- Click any row to open the full detail view for that submission.
- Use the survey filter dropdown in the top-left corner to narrow results to a particular survey.
Viewing Survey Answers in Contact Records
Survey responses don't only live in the Submissions tab — they can also appear on the contact's profile:
- Answers tied to mapped fields (such as name, email, or phone) automatically update the corresponding contact record fields.
- All other answers appear under the Survey | Survey Name dropdown within the contact's information panel.
Exporting Survey Submissions
Need to take your data outside Captivation Hub? Click the blue Export button at the top right of the Submissions view. A download link will be sent to your email address so you can grab the full export at your convenience.
