The Client Portal in Captivation Hub is a branded, centralized space where your customers can access everything connected to your business — their affiliate commissions, membership courses, and community groups — all in one place. Setting it up takes just a few steps, and once it’s live, your clients have a polished, self-serve hub to interact with your services.
The portal can be customized with your brand’s logo, colors, and domain so it feels like a natural extension of your business.
The Client Portal works well for a wide range of businesses:
- Online Education — Students access courses, track progress, and participate in community groups from one login.
- Affiliate Programs — Affiliates monitor referrals and commissions through a single, transparent hub.
- Fitness and Coaching — Members access their training programs and community challenges in one place.
- Retail or VIP Programs — Customers log in to view exclusive offers, points, and events.
Step 1 — Configure a Custom Domain
The Client Portal is available by default on a shared subdomain, but a custom domain makes the experience feel branded and professional. To set it up, navigate to Memberships > Client Portal > Settings > Domain Setup.
Select Custom Domain and enter your desired domain name. Before saving, update your DNS records:
-
A Record: Point your domain to IP
162.159.140.166 -
CNAME Record: Point to
preview.clientclub.net
After updating your DNS records, click Update Domain. DNS propagation typically takes 24 to 48 hours depending on your registrar. Visitors who try the old domain will see an auto-redirect notice pointing them to the updated one.
Step 2 — Migrate from Legacy Memberships (If Applicable)
If your account was previously using Legacy Memberships, you can migrate to the Client Portal setup directly from your Courses settings. Go to Memberships > Courses > Settings, and follow the migration steps shown in the interface. After migration, review your branding, domain, email settings, and app permissions to make sure everything carries over correctly.
Step 3 — Brand Your Client Portal
Go to Memberships > Client Portal > Branding to personalize the look of your portal. The following settings are available:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Portal Name | The name displayed on the portal |
| Portal Description | A short description visible to clients |
| Brand Color One | Primary brand color (buttons, headings) |
| Brand Color Two | Secondary brand color for depth |
| Favicon | Browser tab icon — 1:1 ratio, SVG/PNG/JPG, max 16x16px |
| Portal Image | Square brand image — 1:1 ratio, SVG/PNG/JPG, max 720x720px |
| Logo | Brand logo — 1:1 ratio, SVG/PNG/JPG, max 200x200px |
| Support Email | Contact email displayed to clients for portal support |
| Copyright | Copyright text shown in the portal footer |
Click Save Settings when done. Changes can be reverted by clicking Cancel before saving.
Step 4 — Set a Default Language (Optional)
If you serve clients across multiple regions, you can set a default language for the portal. Go to Memberships > Client Portal > Settings > Language Settings, choose a language, and save. Clients can still update their own language preference from within their account settings.
Step 5 — Invite Clients to the Portal
There are two main ways to get clients into the portal:
From a Child App: You can invite clients directly from within Membership Courses, Communities, or the Affiliate Manager. Existing membership users can log in using their current credentials — they don’t need to re-register.
By Sharing the Portal URL: Copy the URL from your Domain Setup settings and share it via email, social media, or your website. When sharing, highlight what clients can access — exclusive content, affiliate stats, community groups, and more.
Inviting Your Affiliates to the Portal
If you run an affiliate program, your affiliates can use the Client Portal to see their referral links, commission rates, and earnings all in one place. The easiest way to get them in is to share your affiliate campaign's signup link.
- Go to Marketing > Affiliate Manager > Campaigns.
- Find the campaign you want to invite affiliates to and click Edit Campaign.
- Copy the campaign's signup link.
- Share the link with the people you want to invite, by email, text, or anywhere you connect with them.
When someone signs up through that link, they become an affiliate in your campaign and can log in to the Client Portal to view all of their affiliate information.
Tip: If an affiliate can't see their stats after logging in, double check that they're using the right login details and that the Affiliate area is turned on under Client Portal > Settings > App Permissions.
Step 6 — Configure Branding Settings (Additional Options)
From the Branding section, you can also upload and preview how your portal looks with your colors and images applied.
Step 7 — Configure Google Sign-In (Optional)
You can control whether the Sign in with Google option appears on your portal’s login and signup pages. Go to Client Portal Settings > App Permissions and toggle Google Sign-In on or off. When disabled, clients can still log in using their email and password or a secure verification code. This setting applies per account and is available on the Client Portal web platform.
Advanced: App Permissions and Integrations
From Client Portal > Settings > App Permissions, you can enable or disable specific child apps — like Communities, Courses, or the Affiliate area — to control which features are visible to your clients.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My branding changes aren’t showing up on the portal. What’s the issue?
This is usually a caching issue. Try clearing your browser cache or viewing the portal in an incognito window. If it still doesn’t appear, contact support.
Q: Can different accounts have different branding in the portal?
Yes. Each account can have its own branding — logos, colors, and portal names — set independently. Navigate to the Branding section within the specific account to customize it.
Q: My affiliates can’t see their stats in the portal. What should I check?
Confirm that they have the correct login credentials and that they’ve been granted the right permissions. If the issue persists, contact support for help.
Q: I set up DNS records but the custom domain isn’t working. Why?
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate. If it’s been longer than that, check with your domain registrar to confirm the records were saved correctly.
Q: My favicon isn’t uploading. What’s the right format?
The favicon should be in SVG, PNG, or JPG format with a 1:1 aspect ratio and a maximum size of 16x16 pixels. If it still won’t upload after meeting those requirements, contact support.
