How to Import Contacts to the CRM:
- A .csv file with the contacts you want to import
Prepare Your .csv File
- Headers: Ensure Row 1 includes essential headers like 'first name', 'last name', 'email', 'phone', 'additional phones', 'tag', etc.
- Multiple Phone Numbers: For contacts with multiple phone numbers, list additional numbers in the "additional phones" column to manage them seamlessly.
- Phone Number Format: Format phone numbers correctly. If a "+" sign is needed, add an apostrophe at the start (e.g., '+191668128779').
- Field Restrictions: Avoid using File Upload and Signature Fields in the import.
- DND Columns: Be aware that contacts will be set to DND for all channels unless specified otherwise through workflows and tags.
- Data Clean-Up: Clean your list and check for duplicates before importing to maintain data integrity and avoid deliverability issues.
Import Your Contacts
You have two options for adding contacts:
- Manual Addition: Click the “+” sign in the top left corner to create a contact manually.
- CSV Import: Use the import icon (an upward-pointing arrow) to upload contacts from your .csv file. Selecting “Import Contacts” allows for batch-importing, making the process both time-efficient and effective.
- Map fields to specify how the data will fit into Captivation Hub’s fields.
- A green check indicates a ready-to-import field.
- "Column Header From File" denotes which .csv column gets imported.
- "Contact Fields" indicates the target field in Captivation Hub. Most general fields are automatically recognized. Manual mapping might be necessary for custom fields or unconventional headers.
