Advanced SEO Support gives your AI Studio sites a major boost in how visible they are to search engines, social platforms, and AI-powered search experiences. The goal is simple: make sure the work you put into building a great site actually gets seen by the bots that decide whether to surface it in search results.
Heads up: AI Studio is rolling out through Labs. Make sure it's switched on in your account before working through the SEO setup.
Why Advanced SEO Matters for AI Studio Sites
Most AI Studio projects publish as Single-Page Applications (SPAs). They're fast and interactive for human visitors, but they often look like empty shells to crawlers because the content only loads after JavaScript runs. The downstream effects of that:
- Google can take weeks to index your content because it has to wait in the JavaScript rendering queue
- Social previews (on Slack, LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp, and more) come back generic or broken
- AI search engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) struggle to read your content and cite it in their answers
Advanced SEO Support solves this by serving pre-rendered HTML to bots while leaving the experience untouched for real visitors. Pre-rendered pages are delivered from the Cloudflare edge in under 10ms — fast for bots, no impact on your site visitors. Search engines get fully rendered HTML on the first crawl, which means you're indexable right away instead of waiting around for JavaScript rendering. Each project also has its own toggle, so you can enable or disable pre-rendering on a project-by-project basis.
Pre-render SEO
Pre-render SEO is what makes supported bots receive fully rendered HTML instead of the default SPA shell.
Note: Pre-render SEO is only available for published projects with a connected custom domain.
When it's turned on through Advanced SEO Support, supported bots can access the page content, metadata, images, canonical tags, and structured data already on the page. Cached pre-renders are served from Cloudflare's edge network in under 10ms, so there's no extra latency for bots or users.
How to Enable Advanced SEO Support
Enabling Advanced SEO Support turns on the SEO tools available for your published AI Studio project. The setup happens inside the project's SEO settings and requires a connected custom domain.
Step 1 — Open Project Settings
From inside your AI Studio project, click the project name dropdown in the top-left corner and choose Settings.
Step 2 — Open the SEO Tab
In the left sidebar of Settings, open SEO.
Step 3 — Confirm Publish and Custom Domain
Make sure the project is published, a custom domain is connected, and the custom domain is set as primary. If you haven't published yet, see our article on publishing AI Studio projects for the full walkthrough.
Step 4 — Enable Advanced SEO Support
Click Enable to turn on Advanced SEO Support.
Step 5 — Confirm and Re-Publish
Confirm the toggle turns purple to indicate it's enabled. Re-publish the project so the latest rendered output is available to supported bots.
Social Media and Link Previews
With Advanced SEO Support enabled, supported bots can receive your social-tag data in the rendered HTML — so each page shows the correct preview details instead of a generic fallback when shared on social platforms.
Step 1 — Open the SEO Settings
Inside your AI Studio project, click the project name dropdown and choose Settings, then open SEO in the left sidebar.
Step 2 — Copy the Social Preview Prompt
Find Improve social preview content and click Copy prompt.
Step 3 — Paste It Into the AI Studio Chat
Paste the copied prompt into the AI Studio chat for your project.
Step 4 — Review and Re-Publish
Review the update summary AI Studio returns, then publish your project to apply the updates.
Step 5 — Verify the Previews Work
Two quick checks confirm everything is rendering correctly:
- Share the live URL on a supported platform (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, or Discord) and confirm the preview shows the expected title, description, and Open Graph image
- Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger or Twitter Card Validator to confirm Open Graph tags are being served
Generate a Sitemap
A sitemap helps search engines discover the important pages on your site faster. In AI Studio, the Generate sitemap action uses a Copy prompt workflow — same pattern as the social previews.
Rendered output refreshes automatically when the site is published, updated, or moved to a different domain, which keeps the sitemap aligned with the latest content and structure.
Step 1 — Open Project Settings and SEO
Click the project name dropdown in the top-left corner and choose Settings, then open SEO in the left sidebar.
Step 2 — Copy the Sitemap Prompt
Find Generate sitemap and click Copy prompt.
Step 3 — Paste It Into the AI Studio Chat
Paste the copied prompt into the AI Studio chat.
Step 4 — Review, Publish, and View Details
Review the update summary and publish your project to apply the changes. Click Details to view your generated sitemap.
Step 5 — Submit to Search Console (Optional)
Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console if you want to speed up indexing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to publish the project before enabling Advanced SEO Support?
Yes. Publishing is required before the custom domain and SEO setup flow will let you complete enabling Advanced SEO.
Does pre-rendering change how my site looks or behaves for regular visitors?
No. Human visitors still get the same fast, interactive SPA experience. Only bots and crawlers receive the pre-rendered HTML snapshots.
Does Advanced SEO Support automatically inject schema markup?
No. Schema markup isn't added automatically by Advanced SEO Support itself. If you add schema through an AI Studio prompt and it's generated in the page code, supported bots will receive that schema as part of the rendered HTML when pre-rendering is enabled.
How does the cache refresh work?
The cache refreshes automatically when you publish the project, change the connected domain, or update the site and re-publish.
