AI Studio is the AI-powered builder inside Captivation Hub that helps you launch websites, landing pages, and other interactive experiences just by describing what you want. Skip the blank-canvas grind: type a prompt, drop in a reference URL or image, pick a template, and let AI Studio assemble a workable first draft you can refine in a back-and-forth conversation. Everything you build lives inside its own dedicated workspace, so projects stay organized as they grow.
Heads up: AI Studio is rolling out through Labs. Switch it on in your account before you start building.
Where AI Studio Lives in Captivation Hub
Once it's enabled in Labs, AI Studio shows up in the left-hand navigation of your account, right alongside the rest of your tools. Returning to your projects later is as easy as clicking back into the same workspace — there's no scavenger hunt to find what you started.
To open it for the first time:
- Sign in to your Captivation Hub account.
- Flip on AI Studio in Labs if you haven't already.
- Click AI Studio in the left-hand navigation.
Getting Familiar with the AI Studio Home Screen
The AI Studio home screen is mission control — it's where you spin up new projects, jump back into past work, and keep everything you've built tidy. Knowing the layout makes it much easier to bounce between creating, editing, and organizing.
When you open AI Studio, you'll see:
- A description box at the top where you can type the project you want to build
- Tabs for Recently Viewed, My Projects, Starred, and Templates
- A folder system for keeping projects grouped the way you like
- A sidebar that surfaces team collaboration options and project search
Starting a New Project in AI Studio
There are two ways to kick off a project: write a prompt or pick a template. Whether you describe it in your own words, point AI Studio at a reference site, or feed it an image, the goal is the same — get to a strong first draft fast.
Step 1 — Start with a Prompt
Type out what you want to build. The richer the description, the closer the first version will be to what you have in mind. You can also attach files, screenshots, or a live URL for layout, structure, or styling cues.
A few prompts to get the ideas flowing:
- Build a website for a dental clinic with online appointment booking
- Put together a portfolio site for a freelance designer using the brand images attached
- Create a family campground homepage using this URL as inspiration for the navigation and overall feel: https://www.campingvacation.com/
- Design a boutique skincare site using the attached homepage screenshot as visual direction for the hero section, spacing, and typography
Step 2 — Let AI Studio Ask Follow-Ups When Needed
Don't sweat writing the perfect prompt the first time. If your request is too broad, AI Studio will ask the clarifying questions it needs — things like target audience, brand vibe, or the specific pages you want — so the output lands closer to your goal.
Step 3 — Or Start From a Template
Prefer a head start? AI Studio has ready-made templates for common project types like:
- Dashboards
- Ecommerce storefronts
- Portfolios
Click the Templates tab on the home screen and pick the one that fits.
Editing and Refining a Project
AI Studio is designed for back-and-forth iteration. The first draft is just the beginning — you can keep prompting until the project matches what you had in mind. Try follow-up requests like:
- Change the colors to use light green instead of orange
- Add a Contact page
- Make the top navigation similar to the reference URL
- Add a testimonial section similar to the attached screenshot
- Swap the hero section image for the attached photo
AI Studio can also use any images you upload directly in the project. Skip the upload and it'll generate visuals to fill the gaps.
The Built-In Code Editor
Want more control? AI Studio includes a code editor for fine-tuning the project beyond what prompts alone can handle. You can adjust layouts, tweak styles, or fine-tune advanced behavior — all without leaving AI Studio. Changes show up in real time as you work.
Advanced SEO Support
AI Studio ships with a suite of SEO tools so the projects you publish can be found by search engines, social platforms, and AI-powered search experiences.
Because AI Studio sites are built as fast, modern web apps, they can be a little harder for crawlers to read out of the box. Advanced SEO Support fixes that — your content stays accessible and indexable without changing how the site looks or feels to visitors.
With SEO turned on, you can:
- Improve how your site is crawled and indexed by search engines
- Make sure shared links display the correct title, description, and preview image
- Generate a sitemap that helps search engines discover your pages faster
- Make content more readable for AI search tools like ChatGPT and similar assistants
Previewing and Reviewing Your Project
Before you publish, AI Studio gives you several ways to review the finished product:
- Toggle between Preview and Code views
- Check how the project looks on desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Use the page dropdown to navigate between pages in a multi-page project
- Open the selected page in a new tab or refresh the preview after changes
Version History — A Safety Net for Your Work
Every AI-generated change saves a version you can return to later, so refining your project never means losing earlier work. From version history you can:
- Open earlier versions
- Preview an earlier version
- Bookmark a version
- Revert to an earlier version if needed
This is handy when you want to compare changes, undo a prompt result, or jump back to a version that hit closer to your goal.
To view version history, click the Version History button from inside your project.
Forms and Calendar Integration
Forms and calendars turn an AI-generated page into something that actually does work — collecting information or booking time with your business. AI Studio can build either one and then connect it to your Captivation Hub data so submissions and bookings flow through to the right place.
How Forms Work in AI Studio
From a prompt, AI Studio can spin up form-based sections and full page experiences — contact forms, registration forms, feedback forms, lead capture sections, and more. At first the form is purely a front-end layout, meaning it appears on the page before it's wired into your CRM.
To start collecting submissions, ask AI Studio to connect it or click Connect when prompted in the chat. That triggers the Connect to CRM flow, which is used to:
- Create contacts in the account
- Capture form submissions
- Power workflows through tracking triggers
Once connection is complete, AI Studio wires the form into the connected setup so submissions land in your Captivation Hub account.
For a full walkthrough, check the dedicated article on connecting forms and calendars in AI Studio.
How Calendars Work in AI Studio
AI Studio can also generate booking pages and scheduling experiences. The flow mirrors forms — once a calendar is wired in, the page becomes a working scheduling experience without rebuilding it from scratch.

Publishing Your Project
Publishing your AI Studio project makes it available at a live URL so you can review it, share it, and launch it on your own domain. Captivation Hub keeps the publishing flow simple: start with a preview URL, then connect a custom domain and pick the main published URL visitors should use.
Once a project is live, you can keep editing — those changes stay in draft until you publish again, which makes it safe to improve the page without affecting the live version right away.
When an AI Studio project is connected to a domain:
- The project lives in AI Studio under Sites
- The domain connection shows up in Domains
- The published page appears on that connected URL
Publish to a Preview Domain
The first publish always goes to a preview domain — a Captivation Hub-generated URL you can share or test before connecting your own domain.
Connect a Custom Domain
Connecting a custom domain lets you publish your AI Studio project under a branded URL. You can't connect a custom domain until the project has been published to a preview domain at least once.
To connect a custom domain:
- Click Publish, then choose Add Custom Domain.
- Enter the domain you want to connect.
If you enter an apex domain (example.com) or the www version (www.example.com), an option appears to also add the other domain and set up a redirect. We recommend connecting both your root and www domains.
Leave it selected to connect both at once. Clear it if you only want the one you typed. This option only shows for apex and www domains — not for other subdomains like blog.example.com.
- If the domain is already managed in Captivation Hub, the setup continues right inside the flow. If conflicting records are detected, review the warning and the affected records before continuing.
Set a Primary Published URL
If a project is published on multiple URLs, you can pick which one is the canonical (primary) published URL for your AI Studio project. The other connected URLs will automatically 301-redirect to the primary.
Note: If you connected both the apex and www domains during setup, the domain you originally typed becomes the primary URL and the other redirects to it. If your project already has a primary URL set, it stays as-is.
To set a primary published URL:
- Click Publish, then click the three-dot menu next to the URL you want to make primary.
- Click Set as primary.
Cloning Projects in AI Studio
AI Studio lets you clone a project to reuse work without rebuilding it from scratch. When cloning, you can:
- Duplicate the project inside the same account
- Drop the clone at the root level or inside an existing folder
- Choose whether to include chat activity and version history from the original
To clone a project:
- Click the three-dot menu on the project you want to clone and select Clone.
- In the Clone project window, name the new project and choose the target folder (or leave it at the root level).
- Decide whether to include project history. With History brings over chat activity and version history. Without History creates a clean copy with no chats or version history.
- Click Clone.
Where Form Submissions Live
Once a form is connected, submissions flow into the connected account's CRM setup — not back into the AI Studio project itself. The page lives in AI Studio while the responses, contacts, and submission activity end up in your connected Captivation Hub account. After connection, form submissions appear under form submissions as third-party submissions, and they can be tied into workflow activity through external tracking behavior.
You can view submissions in:
- Contacts
- Funnels > Forms > Submissions > External Forms
How Workflows Connect to Form Submissions
Once the form is connected to CRM tracking, submissions can drive workflows through tracking triggers. The flow looks like this:
- Build the form layout in AI Studio
- Connect the form to CRM tracking
- In a workflow, use the External Tracking Event trigger
- Choose the Form submission event to continue the automation
- Use the Domain filter and/or Element filter to target specific forms or pages
Current Limitations and Things to Know
- AI Studio uses reference URLs and uploaded screenshots for structure, layout, and style direction — not as exact one-to-one copies.
- Forms and calendars may need a connection step before they work with your Captivation Hub data and scheduling setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is AI Studio just for websites and landing pages?
Not at all. It can also build other front-end experiences — multi-step surveys, branded forms, booking flows, and other interactive customer-facing pages.
How much does AI Studio cost?
AI Studio is currently free, and pricing is expected to evolve over time.
Do I need to move an AI Studio project into Funnels before publishing it?
Nope. AI Studio projects can publish directly from AI Studio. Build multiple pages, connect them inside the same project, and then publish and connect a domain right from there.
Can I move or copy an AI Studio project into Funnels?
Not at this time. AI Studio projects stay inside AI Studio's own workspace — you don't need to move the output into the legacy Funnel builders.
Can I preview my project on mobile before publishing?
Yes. AI Studio includes preview options for desktop, tablet, and mobile views, so you can check the layout before publishing. Click the device icon at the top of the preview to switch between view modes.
